ob·ses·sion

NOUN

əbˈseSHən/

1.    1. The state of being obsessed with someone or something. "She cared for him with a devotion bordering on obsession"

Ok.  If pressed, I will admit it.
I have a bit of a soft spot for 60 garage / pop / mod bands.
My current unhealthy obsession is for a band out of Ireland (damn you Irish men) out of Cavan.  The Strypes.

Not old enough to saddle up to the bar and buy a drink, but let me tell you.  You will THANK me for introducing you to them.

I guess it does not hurt to be signed by Sir Elton John's  Rocket Music Management Co.  (way to go boys!). Since then, they've signed to Mercury Records, supported Paul Weller, and had Noel Gallagher come to see them on their first proper UK tour.  Next up North America!   But what floors me the most, is that they young lads are only 6 (SIX!) years older than my daughter.  My daughter!

So, I pulled her gap-clad stripy legs up to the computer this morning.. and said “here you go honey.  THESE are who you need to listen to.  THESE boys.. These are the posters I want to see on your wall”.

Their instrumentals are tight.  Gorgeous hair. They are perfectly styled in their skinny jeans and Ben Sherman apparel.  Their sound is bordering on perfection.  They are polite, well-spoken and adorable.  And playing Seattle / Portland / SFO soon.  Who’s with me?
